One of the most common interchanged words from the beauty industry is the use of Lip Gloss and Lip Balm. Sure is, I myself was not able to understand the variation of the two until my lips started to get dry and started cracking last summer. I am making this article now so I could share with you how to identify these two different makeup entities.
Lip gloss is the one often used with the lipstick to make the lips appear shiny. It sometimes contains glitters to add sparks in your lips. Most of the time, it is used to achieve a younger and teenage look. This is what most actresses, actors, models, and runway girls apply on their lips.
Here is an example of lip gloss which I use.

On the other hand, lip balm is the one used to moisturize your lips, like chapstick. It is an oil-based product that helps repair unhealthy lips and moisturizes cracked ones. It can also be used to protect your lips from weather and temperature.
One of my favorite lip balm is Lucas Papaw Ointment.

So I hope I made clear the lip gloss vs. lip balm issue.
Stay tuned for more make-up and beauty updates.
